The short version
This comparison changed. ChatGPT record captures microphone and system audio on the Mac desktop app, with nothing joining the call, and turns it into notes you can edit. On capture method it works much the way Driffle does.
Recording is still something you start, with one exception: Record can start on schedule for Google Meet events on a connected Google Calendar. Sessions run up to four hours and the audio is deleted once transcribed. ChatGPT can also reference notes from past recordings across new chats, so the gap is narrower than it was. What it reaches is the recordings. Driffle also holds the documents, threads and screens around them, so a question can span a month of work rather than a stack of transcripts.
Training is the other split. Recording audio is never used to train, on any plan. The transcripts and notes built from it can be, on consumer plans, unless you turn off Improve the model for everyone. Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces are excluded by default. Driffle never trains on your work on any plan.

Can ChatGPT take meeting notes?
Yes. ChatGPT record in the macOS desktop app captures microphone and system audio and turns it into notes. It needs Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu, and is not included with Go. Nothing joins the call, which is the same approach Driffle takes.
So what does Driffle add?
